The Diploma in Interior Design integrates learning about the relevant materials and services within the built environment, how to implement construction methods and installation techniques to create solutions that are memorable, sustainable, ethical, and socially responsible.
Students who graduate with this qualification understand the theory and practices of creating both desirable and functional spaces for clients and work with technology to plan, design and implement their designs. This is achieved through developing a broad understanding of creative design techniques, technical drawing, project management, business and regulations and an understanding of the teamwork required in interior design projects. Graduates confidently present visually pleasing design solutions, implement the newest industry software across an exciting range of projects, including corporate, domestic, restaurant, installation, service, retail, and specialist interior design projects.

Objectives
- Make use of research and technology to identify the client’s requirements and provide an innovative interior design solution to meet the client’s requirements.
- Make use of up-to-date knowledge from the field and industry to create relevant, responsible and sustainable design solutions.
- Conceptualise and problem solve interior design solutions based on a brief.
- Use both hand drawing techniques and the relevant CAD software to design and represent interior design solutions.
- Be up to date with the materials, services, construction methods, services, ethical and sustainable practices as well as the legal requirements relevant to the industry.
- Present design solutions in a visually pleasing manner.
